This week in Science we learned that the moon revolves around the Earth because the Earth is always applying a constant force on the moon. If the Earth were to disappear the moon would rocket into space. If the Earth applied a greater force on the moon then it would crash into the Earth. This is also why satellites and rockets revolve around Earth. On Monday we reviewed this topic. On Tuesday we started the astronomy unit. On Wednesday we did activities on the computer. On Thursday we continued with the activities. On Friday we learned why paper falls slower than a ball before it is crumpled is because of air resistance acting on the paper. There is very little wind resistance on the ball because since it has a greater mass than the paper the Earth has to apply more force on it than on the paper.
